What you actually get.
Brand identity at Blinklabs is not a deck of mood boards and a logo you can use in five places. It is a working system you can build a business around for years.
Wordmark, logomark, and lockups
The actual mark you put on the door, the website, and the invoice. Built for the real screens and the real signs, not just the case-study render.
Colour and type system
A working palette and a typographic hierarchy that survives an out-of-template moment. Tested at small sizes on real Maltese phones before sign-off.
Voice rules
Five rules and a banned-phrase list. So an intern, a freelancer, or you-at-2am all sound like the same brand.
Applied identity
Business cards, signage, menus, packaging, social tiles, email signature, presentation template. The things you actually need on Monday.
Brand guide
One PDF that documents everything above so a future designer cannot accidentally undo the work. Plain English, no design-speak.
Full source files
Vectors, fonts, colour profiles, the lot. The brand is yours when we are done. No subscription, no licence trap, no rented logo.
How we work.
Four short rounds. You always know what is next, what is being asked of you, and when the next thing is due. No agency politics, no account managers, no slide decks for slide decks.
An hour over coffee
What you sell, who you sell to, what you sound like, what is in the way. No questionnaire. Just a conversation.
Two real options
Two distinct visual directions, applied to your actual context (the menu, the storefront, the inbox). Not a wall of swatches.
One picked, polished
We tighten the direction you picked, work through the type system, build the colour, write the voice rules.
Everything you need
The applied identity, the brand guide, the source files. Plus a one-page handover document so you know what to do next.
What it costs in Malta.
We keep pricing honest because Maltese SMEs deserve a straight answer.
- A focused brand (logo, colour, type, one applied set) starts at the lower end of the range we show in the instant estimate on the homepage.
- A full identity (everything above plus voice, applied set across multiple touchpoints, full brand guide) sits higher in that same range.
- A rebrand of an existing business usually lands somewhere in between, because some of the work is in unlearning the old.
The estimator on the homepage gives you an indicative range in a couple of minutes. A real proposal follows the kickoff call. We do not chase. If the maths does not work for you, that is fine to say.
Real Maltese examples.
Two recent brand projects from the studio. Both are linked to their full case study.
Stache Studios
A brand for a Maltese illustrator selling prints. Wordmark, colour system, voice, and a Shopify storefront built around all of it. From Instagram DMs to a real shop.
Thorim
Full brand identity for an AI coding assistant. Cube logo, plasma-purple palette deliberately outside the AI tool default, voice rules card, and an applied set across web, app and email.
Why hire a Maltese brand studio?
You probably do not need a London or Berlin agency. You need someone who can sit down with you for an hour in Sliema, understand the bit of the business you actually run, and ship something that works in Malta. The right brand for a Maltese restaurant in Buġibba is not the same as one for a Maltese fintech in St Julian's. Local context matters.
You also probably do not want six layers of agency. One designer, who answers their own phone, takes their own brief, and ships their own work, is faster and better for projects of this size. That is what this studio is.
Brand identity in Malta · FAQ.
How much does a brand identity cost in Malta?
It depends on scope. A focused brand (logo, colour and type system, one applied deliverable) starts lower than a full brand identity with voice, photography direction, an applied set (cards, signage, menus, packaging) and a full brand guide. We share an indicative range up front on the homepage estimator before any commitment, and a firm proposal after a kickoff call.
How long does brand identity work take?
A focused brand turns around in two to four weeks. A full identity with applied deliverables takes four to eight weeks. The pacing depends mostly on how quickly the client can review work between rounds.
Do you only work with Maltese businesses?
Mostly. The studio is based in Malta and most projects are for Maltese and EU clients. We have shipped brand work for clients further afield when the fit is right.
What do I actually own at the end?
Full ownership of the final assets transfers to you on delivery. You get the source files, the export bundle, and a written brand guide. Blinklabs retains the right to show the project in its portfolio.
Can you rebrand without changing the name?
Yes. Most rebrand work keeps the company name and rebuilds everything around it. Logo, colour, type, voice, application. It is usually a better return than a name change.
Can you also build the website and software for my brand?
Yes. The whole studio is built around delivering brand, websites, and custom software from the same person. The Thorim project was a single one-month sprint that covered all three. It is usually cheaper and faster to do them together than to find a brand designer, a developer, and a software engineer separately.
